Ryan turns 7 months

Wow, I can't believe it's been 7 months since the day I was wheeled into the delivery room! Time flies...the past 7 months have been so great having Ryan fill our lives with his little antiques.

He has gotten too "rough" to remain safe in his cot. He turns and flips so quickly and is desperately trying to crawl too. In no time he will be able to grab onto the top of the cot and pull himself up. So we decided it's time we put him in his playpen, set all the way to the bottom so that he can't flip over and fall out.

Does he look like he's enjoying himself? I think so...despite being clad in an oversized pyjamas that the mummy insisted on buying!

First baby chair

Ryan sat in a baby chair for the first time. He enjoyed it more than being in his pram. Now we can start shopping for a high chair for him!

Going to the Baby's Room

We went shopping at Ikano one day and Ray was with Ryan at a DIY shop while I shopped elsewhere. Halfway through, he called to say the little boy had pooped and we needed to find a baby room. I forgot to bring along the wet wipes so I rushed to the nearest pharmacy to grab one. I waited in line for quite a long time while Ray went with Ryan to the baby room first.

When I got there, the father cleared the path for me to do the "honour" of cleaning and changing Ryan. So I did...The rest of the story unfolds in the pictures below.

Ryan lying on the changing table waiting to be cleaned up and changed. He's got a funny expression on his face, I wonder why.

The pants came off and now we take a deep breath, all ready to be confronted with the smell...

Mummy: "Hey, there's no poo in the diaper!"

Ryan: "That's what I was trying to tell you with that funny expression."

Ryan being strapped back in his pram. Doesn't he look a tad angry at us for getting him all wrong?

Daddy's artistic shots

Daddy tries his artistic photography skill on Ryan. What do you think?

Going topless

It's a hot day, so Ryan was rolling about topless for a while...I think he liked it!

Ryan enjoying the cooling sensation of being topless...

He doesn't seem to want to let his toy frog go!

Grandma slips in for a picture moment with hot Ryan.

Second attempt at solids

Two weeks after Ryan had his first taste of cereals, we decided to give it another shot. This time I asked the paed's recommendation on what's best for him and she recommended Heinz rice receals.

This time round, he enjoyed every spoonful of it! *Grin*

All ready to mix up the cereals.

Ryan's gamed to try whatever goodie is offered.

Does it look like he's saying "Good!"?

Ryan drinks by himself

He's very eager to hold his own bottle nowadays. Funnily enough, it's only the bottle that contains water, not the milk. Strange, huh?

Here's the little hero, all on his own with his water bottle.

"Which part goes into my mouth?"

"I love water!"

"I like chewing on this rubbery stuff too..."

"I'm done now. Someone take this away from me."

The first taste...

After failing to give Ryan a treat when he turned 6-month old (he fell asleep too early that night!), I waited until the weekend to give the little boy a surprise...

Ryan playing by himself in his cot on Saturday morning

Yes, he has learned to flip over, quick as a fox too!

When I called out to him and waved a golden box in my hand, he flashed me a smile

This is the golden box...Ryan's first taste of solid food of rice cereals with apples and cranberries

He didn't like his first spoonful...

...nor the second

Mummy says "Let's take a break and try again, ok?"

Ryan is getting the hang of it...it's not that bad after all

It's quite yummy huh? Maybe not...

My little happy boy is 6 months old!

Time flies...Ryan is already six months old. He's been such a delight to us in the last 6 months and I'm sure he will continue to be in all the years to come.

Here's the happy boy with Grandma.

Ryan met Assuntarians

Last night we brought Ryan to meet up with two of my former schoolmates. We all had a good time and the kids were the ultimate center of attention. Gone are the days when we girls got together to chat and giggle...It's now a mummy's world for us!

Me with Sophia.

How come only the adults are smiling??!

Ryan's first CNY ang pows

Ryan celebrated his very first Chinese New Year in 3 places - Muar, Johor Bahru and KL. We brought him to meet many of his cousins, aunts & uncles as well as grand-aunts and grand-uncles.

Needless to say, he was well pampered by everyone, from young kids to the adults. He was carried non-stop most of the time and he loved the attention all day long.

Ryan received his first Chinese New Year ang pows with glee and excitement. He would grab them whenever anyone hands him an ang pow and if you tried to take it away from him, he'll scream "robbery"! Smart, eh? :)

Ryan getting his Ang Pow from mummy

"Thank you mummy!"

And here's daddy's Ang Pow

"Let's open the ang pows!"

"Who's gonna help me count?"

Ryan is 5 months old!

Little boy is 5 months old today. I get many questions from friends asking how old (or should it be young?) he is. Well, now you know for sure :)

Here's one of my favourite photos with him taken around Christmas time.

More photos to come soon.
